WINTER '24 CAMP Registration is open!

KIT Program

Our camp is defined by more than our slogan ‘Fun, Friendly, and Fantastic’; after 22 years we can proudly say that we are woven into the fabric of the Kuwaiti society. We have had campers become counselors, counselors become supervisors, and supervisors become directors. We have even had campers start camps of their own. This tradition of promoting from within is something we value and embrace because it helps ensure that our values are preserved, and the spirit of our camp is as fiery as ever.

Career Path Development at KCamp

We have always believed that career path development has become organically through the natural growth of our camp. Counselors who prove themselves the first time around naturally became Senior Counselors. This incentivizes them to perform and prove themselves.

With around 300+ campers every summer season, we will have no less than 80+ staff supporting our daily operations.

DEVELOPMENT

Kampers in Training (KIT) Program

The goal of the program is to supplement the organic growth of KCamp and instill the values we believe in in a way that will not only help develop campers into future leaders but also prepare them for the challenges they will face in an ever-evolving world.

The idea is to identify young talents early on in camp who are willing and yearning to take on additional responsibilities and slowly work their way up the ranks of camp while still wanting to enjoy being a camper… the best of both worlds!

What are the goals behind the KIT program?

At face value, the KIT program is designed to prepare campers to become staff at camp… but it is much more than that, it is designed to:

  • Provide leadership opportunities to campers;
  • Discover their passion by having them get a taste for the different leadership roles available at KCamp;
  • Develop communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Grow into responsible members of their communities;
  • Foster a deep sense of responsibility.

Who is the Ideal Candidate for the program?

  • Campers Age 12 to 14.
  • Display a budding sense of maturity and responsibility.
  • Have a sense of creativity.
  • Showcase a strong ability to problem solve and think fast.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Have a patience and empathy to deal with kids.

How will it work?

Our management will scout the campers for qualities of a KIT; they will then recommend a certain number of campers to be enrolled into the KIT program. Parents are then sent a consent form, accepting for their children to take part in the KIT program.

There will be a two-way understanding that being part of this program isn’t a guarantee for future jobs at camp, but like with anything, it will be merit based. Campers will go through the rotations and will be assessed and guided in the hopes of developing them into future staff members.

When does the KIT Program run?

The KIT program runs exclusively during our summer camps, as they are our longest running camp seasons. This allows us to establish a rotation schedule for each camper, allowing us to assess and guide the participants in a fair manner as they will experience the different features of our work.
